Truck

I’m not the only one who moved a lot of snow today. Apparently Montréal spends more money on snow removal than any other city in North America. Either because we’re bigger than other cities (Québec city, Winnipeg) or we get more snow (Toronto, Ottawa).

or because we waste a lot of money. lol.
the city trucks depart from the bottom of my street but we never get our street plowed until the end of the city-wide removal, and then only after the city has played a little game with us – see, for a few days, they’ll promise to plow, and we’ll have to scurry around to find a parking spot that is not on the side where we can’t be parked, and they won’t come. repeat the next day. then with luck on the third day of this game we get lucky. by then sometimes most of the snow has melted.
i don’t mind that much, but i can’t help but make a few mental comments about living in a poor part of town. i mean the trucks pass on our street to go everywhere else – you’d think it might help then to have a plowed street to navigate to wherever they are going (westmount? outremont?).
