Hema

Alison with a colour coordinated outfit, scrambling to our sunbathing spot. The Hema bag is Dutch and has nothing to do with Québec’s blood bank.

This was so funny. I thought we were going to the sunbathing place Mark knew about and Mark thought we were going to Suzanne’s. Neither of us thought we’d need hiking boots, and I just wore little summer slippers that can be laundered in the washing machine.
We didn’t have backpacks either, just a beach bag. So there we were, the notoriously overprepared, overequipped pair, making our way through the woods like a couple of idiots. I hoisted the beach bag on my back like a backpack with an arm through each handle and scrambled barefoot for over a kilometre.
Fortunately, I love walking barefoot.

Wij hebben 3 1/2 jaar in Duitsland gewoond. Wat wij Nederlanders daar in het buitenland misten was het HEMA gevoel. Dat begrijpen alleen Nederlanders (die niet in Nederland wonen)
