Update 12 December:

- I tried the snow blower again. I found that the gas valve that I thought was the gas valve was not the gas valve. The real gas valve was hidden under the gas tank. After opening it the engine started without a problem.
- the amount of snow that fell since yesterday is not enough to warrent using a snow blower. I did most of it bwith the shovel, only parts I hadn’t done yesterday were machine-blown.
- I should wear ear protection when using the damn machine.
- the car’s battery is charged and seems to be holding its charge.

@waa Tell them because you actually should cry, but you don't easily cry in public. @Michel Good how you can get some use out of that expensive outdoor gear. I used my climbing harness extensively while painting the fire escape and trimming our maple tree.

I use a Black Diamond avalanche shovel. Really light, extensible handle, and it’s made to handle rough snow.
